DECS is migrating from Symantec Endpoint Protection to Microsoft Defender as the preferred endpoint protection client for DECS installed Windows computers. The user interface will be familiar to Symantec users, but there are some small changes to note. The icon in the tray menu has changed from:

Scanning is still done in the same way when right-clicking a file or folder, though the text has changed from:


If you do not find the Defender icon in your tray menu, or still find the Symantec icon, please restart your computer, which will allow it to apply the latest updates and software. If you still do not find the new icon in your tray menu, please contact DECS Support (contact information below), who can assist you with ensuring Defender is working properly.
