Title	Software Description
ABAQUS	The Abaqus Unified FEA product suite offers powerful and complete solutions for both routine and sophisticated engineering problems covering a vast spectrum of industrial applications. Dynamic vibration, multibody systems, impact/crash, nonlinear static, thermal coupling, and acoustic-structural coupling using a common model data structure and integrated solver technology are some of these applications.
ADAMS	Adams is a motion simulation solution for analyzing the complex behavior of mechanical assemblies.
Adobe Acrobat	Adobe Acrobat is a program published by Adobe to read, create, and edit Portable Document Format (PDF) files. PDF files were developed by Adobe to be a file type that is not only more secure than a typical document but also would appear the same on any platform or screen. Acrobat Professional can be purchased for College of Engineering owned computers from DECS. Acrobat Professional is installed in DECS Labs workstations with scanners attached. There is also a free version of Acrobat called Adobe Reader that can only read PDF files installed on all DECS Lab machines and Remote Desktop Services.
Altair HyperWorks	Altair Engineering's HyperWorks is a computer-aided engineering (CAE) simulation software platform that allows businesses to create superior, market-leading products efficiently and cost effectively. HyperWorks accomplishes this in two significant ways: a flexible software licensing model and simulation-driven design technologies.
ANSYS	Multiphysics simulation solutions from ANSYS allow engineers and designers to create virtual prototypes of their designs operating under real-world multiphysics conditions. As the range of need for simulation expands, companies must be able to accurately predict how complex products will behave in real-world environments, where multiple types of coupled physics interact. Industry-leading software from ANSYS enables engineers and scientists to simulate the interaction between structural mechanics, heat transfer, fluid flow and electromagnetics all within a single, unified engineering simulation environment. ANSYS Tutorials A step-by-step tutorial for ANSYS for Windows can be found inside the program. It is accessible by selecting Help on the menu bar, then ANSYS Tutorials. A box will pop up with the introduction to the tutorial. You can follow it along step by step at your own pace.
ANSYS Fluent	ANSYS FLUENT software contains the broad physical modeling capabilities needed to model flow, turbulence, heat transfer, and reactions for industrial applications ranging from air flow over an aircraft wing to combustion in a furnace, from bubble columns to oil platforms, from blood flow to semiconductor manufacturing, and from clean room design to wastewater treatment plants. Special models that give the software the ability to model in-cylinder combustion, aeroacoustics, turbomachinery, and multiphase systems have served to broaden its reach.
Aspen	Aspen is a Chemical Engineering simulation program. "Aspen is the market-leading application suite that integrates and optimizes engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain operations for the process industries. Unlike point solutions that only address specific process areas, Aspen addresses inefficiencies end-to-end throughout the plant, resulting in millions of dollars in cost savings and increased customer satisfaction."
