For the last several months and especially recently, MSU email accounts have been targeted with a scam attempt. The scammer usually creates a new gmail account and pretends to be your department head or some other significant person. The scammer starts by asking if you are available or on campus. If you reply then the scammer gives excuses about being in a meeting and asks you to buy gift cards. This is a scam! Do not buy gift cards or prepaid credit cards as a favor for other people.
If you have questions about any suspicious mail, please contact the DECS Support Office by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 517-353-8891. Thank you.
