Fast & Convenient
The College of Engineering provides email for every EGR NetID in addition to and independent of the MSU email system. Engineering email addresses are EGRNetID@egr.msu.edu. The engineering email server has a great deal of flexibility built in. This includes unlimited inbox sizes so that incoming email delivery is guaranteed against failure due to a limits placed on the size of a user's inbox. The size restriction on an individual out-bound email size is set very high at 60MB. All mailboxes are backed up and can be restored, with both web email and IMAP-SSL options being supported. We support mobile email devices that can operate using standards compliant IMAP-SSL/STARTTLS protocols.

The engineering mail server offers virus and spam protection. Mailboxes are backed up daily and can easily be restored when needed within two months.

- RoundCube - RoundCube is a browser-based multilingual IMAP client with an application-like user interface. It provides the full functionality you would expect from an email client, including MIME support, address book, folder manipulation, message searching and spell checking.
- Flying SquirrelMail - SquirrelMail is a standards-based webmail package written in PHP. It includes built-in pure PHP support for the IMAP and SMTP protocols, and all pages render in pure HTML 4.0 (with no JavaScript required) for maximum compatibility across browsers.
