Where is Cadence available?

Cadence is available in the DECS Public Labs, Remote Desktop Services, and the DECS Compute Servers.

Starting Cadence on the DECS Compute Servers

You must run a program like X2Go to launch Cadence with a GUI on the compute servers.

Set your environment variables on the compute server by entering source $SOFT/cadence in a terminal window.  If you are using Cadence for a class you may want to use source $SOFT/cadence-auto to include special libraries used in engineering courses.

The popular circuit design and CAD tool Virtuoso can be started with the command "virtuoso". It is helpful to use "virtuoso &" if you want to detach the process from the terminal.
