This fall group member Dr. Edward Rothwell has been named the inaugural Dennis P. Nyquist Endowed professor in Electromagnetics, one of the most prestigious appointments of the College of Engineering. Congrats!
Ed received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1979, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1980, and the degree of electrical engineer from Stanford in 1982. He graduated with his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Michigan State in 1985, where he studied under K.M. Chen and held the Dean's Distinguished Fellowship. He worked for Raytheon Co. Microwave and Power Tube Division from 1979-1982, and for MIT Lincoln Laboratory in 1985. He has been at Michigan State University from 1985-1990 as an assistant professor of electrical engineering, from 1990-1998 as an associate professor, from 1998 as professor, and served as ECE Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies from 2014-2017.
