Brandon Hart is from East Lansing, and is majoring in Electrical Engineering at Michigan State University. Throughout the project, he was responsible for overseeing the progress of each system and making sure it was heading the right direction. He was also in charge of the project schedule Gantt chart that was used to estimate the progress of the project, and altered priorities as he saw complications arising. As Project Manager, it was also his task of assisting other coordinators to assure efficient and prompt completion of tasks.
With over ten years of experience with Autodesk's AutoCAD, he was responsible for all the 3D models, final designs, and 3D printed parts. Throughout the process, all members contributed to design specs and assisted with solving issues related to the designs. His major contribution to the final product was the design and implementation of the tracking tag wristband.
Brandon was also the most experienced with remote control vehicles, which aided greatly in deciding upon which robotic base to order, what batteries would be used in the project, and what sensors would help to accomplish the project's goals most effectively. Using this knowledge, Brandon and Vince were able to design a state machine that would be used to control the robot as it responded to the tracking tag’s movements. He also worked with all the team members to determine the functions and actions of the obstacle avoidance system. He was also responsible for construction of the power supply circuit and major connections made to it.
When things were malfunctioning, Brandon aided the team by helping to assess the problem and determine appropriate steps towards a solution. At the end of the project, Brandon worked with the rest of the team to organize and finalize the robot.
