E-RESILIENCY Lab researchers participated in hands-on RTDS training at Michigan State University. The training covered RSCAD model development, NovaCor operation, real-time power-system simulation, and preparation for hardware-in-the-loop testing of protection and control systems.
Lab members visited MSU’s cogeneration facility to learn how its six natural-gas generating units, with approximately 99 MW of capacity, coordinate with the 10.5 MW solar carport array to supply campus electricity and steam. The visit highlighted combined heat and power production, solar integration, and energy distribution to more than 100 MSU buildings.
