Vector Pipeline L.P. announced the appointment of Peter Cianci (BS Mech Egr ’91) as senior vice president for marketing and business development.
Cianci was formerly president of DTE Gas Storage and Pipelines, where he managed operating units of DTE Energy. He has more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry, in areas that include business development, marketing, facilities planning, gas control and supply planning.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University in 1991 and an OPTU in 1991 in Engineering, with a major in energy. He also earned a master's of science degree in mechanical engineering from Wayne State University.
"Pete brings tremendous natural gas marketing and business development experience to our Vector Pipeline team at a time when demand for natural gas supplies is increasing within Michigan and Ontario," said John T. "His knowledge of Vector, the evolving gas market and his successful record of meeting customer needs through the timely completion of pipeline projects is invaluable to our continued commitment to provide a reliable supply of natural gas in this region."
The Vector Pipeline System -- constructed in 2000 -- consists of 348 miles of mainline natural gas transmission pipeline between the Chicago Hub and the storage complex at Dawn, Ontario. Vector Pipeline L.P.'s system begins in Joliet, Ill., and terminates at the international border at St. Clair, Mich., where it interconnects with the Vector Pipeline Limited Partnership system, which provides service to the Dawn storage facilities. The system has multiple interconnections, which include Alliance, Northern Border, Guardian, ANR, NIPSCO, Crossroads, Consumers Energy, DTE Gas, DTE Washington 10 Storage, Bluewater Gas Storage, Enbridge Gas Distribution and Union Gas. Three power plants also are tied into the Vector system: Crete Energy Ventures, Jackson Power Facility and Greenfield Energy Centre.
Vector Pipeline L.P. is a partnership between Calgary-based Enbridge Inc. with a 60 percent interest, and Detroit-based DTE Energy Company, with a 40 percent interest.
