My research goal is to apply microbiology fundamentals and engineering prinicples to study new environmentally friendly bioprocesses and transfer such technologies to real-world applications. To realize this goal, my resarch group focuses on holistic approaches to bridge the gap between synthetic biology (engineered microbes) and process engineering (production), and correspondingly develop next-generation sustainable bioprocessing systems.
