About

The BE Club at Michigan State University is dedicated to furthering the professional development of the students in our department. We achieve this objective through providing our members with opportunities for leadership roles within the department, networking and relationship-building with employers who are interested in hiring our major, connections to University resources, and hands-on experiences.

Throughout the school year we provide many engaging activities to our members, including corporate facility tours and presentations from industry representatives. Facility tours allow students to literally see what our major can do, to network with potential employers, and to experience first-hand some company culture- and there may be some free merchandise thrown in! The BE department has wonderful alumni who are interested in contributing to the full learning experience and success of current students. Because of this, many Club meetings throughout the year will have a speaker or two presenting on the products, values, and culture of their company, as well as available employment opportunities.

On top of all of this, there are many University resources available to members of the BE Club. As an official Engineering and CANR student organization, we are able to participate in the Student Engineering Council, CANR Student Senate, and other multi-organization events. Certain BE scholarships are related to Club membership/leadership. We also have the opportunity to be recognized as a hall sponsor during the Engineering Expo if our members volunteer as student ambassadors.

Many positions of Club leadership are available for members interested in shaping the vision of the Club to serve the needs of BE students. Are you interested in making personal connections with employers, acquiring unique opportunities such as information about little-known job openings and engaging speakers for your fellow students; or perhaps in being their voice and input on significant department decisions such as degree requirements? As an Officer of BE Club, you can do that! For a full list of positions and the description of each, please see the "Officers" page.

If you want to "get your gloves dirty", this is the right place! Other fun Club events include Cheese- and Ice Cream-making, pumpkin carving, and any other activities from bowling to volunteering, depending on member interest. Did we mention food? Pizza and Pop are provided at many meetings.
