Description:
This project aims to implement a low power, hybrid optical/electrical implantable microsystem as the next generation of brain-machine interfaces. Optogenetic stimulation and simultaneous electrical recording is targeted in this work. While the system is operating in noisy surroundings, it has to be capable of overcoming the noise issue and recording low-amplitude signals. A 32 channel ECoG recording system which is compatible with high impedance electrodes is desirable. Furthermore, as always, power is expensive for implantable microsystems. Therefore, designing and implementation of an efficient and low power system is a must in this project.
