The CBL is a collaborative, multidisciplinary laboratory focused on the mechanistic understanding of diseases, in particular Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, and cancer. Our goal is to identify disease biomarkers and potential targets for therapeutic intervention by characterizing the roles of particular pathways and biomolecules in the pathogenesis and progression of these diseases. We apply our expertise to develop novel computational and high-throughput experimental tools, which can subsequently be applied universally for the analysis of biological systems. Among our areas of interest and expertise are biological network reconstruction, RNA interference, signaling and transcription factor networks, nucleic acid biochemistry, genomics, proteomics, targeted drug delivery systems, and membrane biophysics.
