The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Michigan State University are currently conducting research to better understand the symptoms and treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). The use of a barostat could prove to be an effective tool in this field of research. The only model currently available on the market is not a feasible option for the research team due to its high cost. ECE 480 Design Team 7 will design and develop a small animal barostat comparable to the market equivalent at a cheaper price.
