In order to maintain the product’s quality and monitor all possible errors in developing on this award winning technology, there are different methods and devices that could be used. However, the only system that is currently available at Bosch’s Car Multimedia Division for in-car, on-road, quality testing, is a fairly expensive set of video recording equipment. Used to monitor the Infotainment during on-road testing, the current method is not only expensive - requiring multiple devices, but is inefficient and leaves much room for human error.
Our task was to improve upon this method by creating a device that could not only record more streams of monitoring data, but to make it more user friendly and as independent as possible. The device was expected to be capable of recording, compiling, and compressing multiple video streams and audio into one packaged deliverable. To be able to accurately monitor the display and navigational system features, the solution was also designed to have flagging features, track GPS location of the device, and keep a reliable timestamp.
