Pang-Ning Tan:
Dr. Tan is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Michigan State University. He received my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota. His research focuses on the development and application of data mining algorithms for a wide variety of applications including medical informatics, Earth Science, social networks, Web mining, and computer security. His current research areas include pattern discovery in large databases, mining spatio-temporal and evolving data sets, incorporating background knowledge into data mining, and mining graphs and network data.
