TEACHING
I routinely teach Biological Processes in Environmental Engineering (ENE804) and Environmental Engineering Process Lab (ENE806) and serve as Environmental Engineering Faculty Consultant for CE495 - Capstone Design Project. In the past, I have taught Microbiology for Environmental Sci & Eng (CE487), Engineering Economics module of CE272, and Introduction to Environmental Engineering (CE280).
RESEARCH
Research in my lab is focused on three areas: i) Development of new approaches and tools to understand how complex microbial communities work, ii) Development and validation of low-cost field-deployable microfluidic devices for nucleic acids-based testing of microbes and functional genes, and iii) Enabling technologies for organohalide bioremediation with a focus on functional genomics. More details about these areas can be found here
