The MIDI Lab is currently working on translational medical research projects for topics including machine learning for quantitative diagnostics, cardiac perfusion estimation, quantitative PET and CT imaging, radiation dose optimization, and increased efficiency in the delivery of diagnostic healthcare.

I serve as the administrative director for undergraduate studies in CMSE, offering minors and a major in Data Science. These comprehensive programs prepare students to apply data science and computation to solve real-world problems.

Collaborative Initiatives

  • SNMMI Dose Optimization: Radiation dose for all nuclear medicine and molecular imaging procedures should be optimized so that the patient receives the smallest possible amount of radiopharmaceutical that will provide the appropriate diagnostic information.
  • Image Gently: An initiative of the Alliance for Radiation Safety in Pediatric Imaging to promote radiation protection in the imaging of children.
  • Image Wisely: Campaign with objective of lowering the amount of radiation used in medically necessary imaging studies and eliminating unnecessary procedures.
