A
large spectrum of multi-disciplinary research is conducted in the TMUAL
. Examples of research interests include the study of the flow over
a pitching airfoil, the investigation of an excited two stream shear
layer flow, the examination of the intake flow dynamics of an internal
combustion engine, uni-directional solidification of a binary alloy,
molecular mixing studies, bio-inspired flows, electroosmotically driven
flows, etc. Three techniques comprise the backbone of the TMUAL's fluid
flow quantification approach which allow us to non-intrusively measure
velocity and temperature characteristics of the fluid:
Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF)
Molecular Tagging Velocimetry (MTV)
Molecular Tagging Thermometry (MTT) |
