Darrell W. Donahue

Over the last several years Dr. Donahue has developed a wide range of engineering and management skills which can be applied in many industrial and academic settings.  These skills include:

* Quantitative skills: Technology development; process optimizations for chemical and biological industries; systems level design and manufacturing; statistical process control of industrial systems; chemical and microbiological risk assessment; engineering economic modeling.

Kirk Dolan

Dr. Dolan's areas of expertise: Optimization and scale-up of value-added food processes, parameter estimation and inverse solutions, kinetics of food processes, extrusion food processing, membrane separations, developing statistical and computational methods for food engineering applications, using Matlab and finite-element programs, (Fermlab) for lab-verified computer simulation of food processes, and thermal processing.

  • Use of constructed wetlands for water quality improvement.
  • Hydrological modeling and simulation.
  • Assessment of watershed-scale wetland restoration scenarios.
  • Climate change impacts on water resources, agricultural production and food security.
  • Quantitative microbial risk assessment and characterization.
