The Selfridge Air National Guard Base hosted the events at the Detroit City Airport and the Oakland County International Airport. Sloan is a part of a skydiving team called the Misty Blues All Women Skydiving Team. It is only one of two all-female skydiving teams in the United States! They present about women in STEM and aviation fields after skydiving into airshows. Sloan was recently able to present to the middle and high school students about women in engineering and the PhD programs offered. She offered advice to the students interested in pursuing an engineering degree and was able to share her research topics with them. Many students had questions about different STEM majors, college, and graduate school, Sloan was happy to answer all their questions! The goal for this outreach program is to expose students to the many opportunities in the STEM field.
