Dr. Bush teamed up with Society of Women Engineers to host an event in the machine shop.
Sloan Kanat and Christina Berels gave a tour of the Bush lab to the girls camp. They showed them how some of the equipment works. Specifically they learned about the pressure mapping system and even were able to try it out themselves.
Sloan Kanat participated in a STEM outreach program for middle school and high school students.
The Bush Lab joined the founder of the Adaptive Sports Club at MSU, Piotr Pasik, and interns working with the club, for a game of trashketball (trash can basketball). The club practices most nights of the week at various locations. This Wednesday they were in Jenison Field House.
Vice President of the Society of Women Engineers, Lindsay Fricano, and Mechanical Engineering (ME) Associate Professor Tamara Reid Bush hosted a workshop for women engineers in the machine shop. The primary goal of the event was for women to learn how to use the machinery and to become familiar with the shop environment prior to beginning their design classes. The event included shop safety training as well as hands-on work with the drill
