Dr. Bush's lab attended the American Society of Biomechanics (ASB) conference August 2024. Adam Chrzan was chosen to compete with his 3 minute thesis on assessing thumb function before and after treatment of osteoarthritis. Majority of women and 1 in 3 men are affected by OA and it can cause severe pain and mobility limitations, so it is important to find solutions that are effective in gaining thumb function back. His research will help to create an effective way to measure progress after treatments. Dr. Bush and Adam have been working closely with hand surgeons in Grand Rapids and University of Michigan. With this talk Adam won first place in the competition for his 3 minute talk!
