Harry J. Bodak

Harry J. Bodak (BS Elec Egr '59), 80, of Clifton Park, N.Y., died in August 2011. He was born December 27, 1930, in Amsterdam, N.Y., a son of the late George and Emily Bodak.

Bodak served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 in the United States and Morocco as a radar specialist. After graduating from MSU, he enjoyed a career with Raytheon Corporation in engineering, and retired as a project manager. He was involved with missile defense including the initial deployment of the Patriot missile system.

Upon his retirement in 1993, he moved to Florida and was an avid golfer. He returned to New York in 2003. Bodak is survived by his wife, Shirley Furman Bodak, whom he married on June 26, 1954; his children, Susan Bodak of Clifton Park, N.Y. and Jeffrey Bodak of South Attleboro, Mass.; his grandchildren, Steven and Alyssa Bodak; brother, John Bodak; three sisters, Jane Zabella of Amsterdam, N.Y., Jean Myers of Schenectady, N.Y., and Stella Warwick of Port Washington, N.Y.; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael.
