James Murray Needham

James Murray Needham (BS Elec Egr ’59) died July 10, 2011. He was born in Brighton, Mich., May 17, 1934, to James A. and Catharine Needham. After graduating from MSU, Needham began working for Bendix/Allied Signal/Honeywell as an electrical engineer where he held a patent on the anti-lock braking system (ABS). He was a veteran of the Korean War.

In 1956 Needham married Barbara Clements at the MSU Alumni Memorial Chapel. He is survived by her and their three children: Tamara (Jeff) Libersky of Plymouth, Ind., and James Andrew (Antonette) Needham and Ellen Needham Imbur, both of South Bend, Ind. He also leaves grandchildren, Matthew and Emma Libersky, Christopher Needham, and Jack Imbur.
