Donald James Morfee

Donald James Morfee (BS CIV EGR ’48), Sarasota, Florida, died Feb. 19, 2017, in Sarasota. He was 93. 

He was born Feb. 3, 1924, in Gary, Indiana. 

He was a student at Michigan State University when World War II was declared and he immediately enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp, where he flew P-51 Fighter Mustangs. He was discharged in 1946 and returned to the university, where he graduated in 1948 with a degree in civil engineering. 

Morfee received two of MSU’s highest honors. He was presented an MSU Alumni Grand Award in 1973 and an honorary doctor of laws degree in 1976.

Services were March 3 at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
