Donald J. Wilson

Donald J. Wilson (BS CHEM EGR ’50), Rancho Mirage, Calif., died April 23. He was 88.

He was born Sept. 28, 1927, in Reed City, Mich.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Michigan State University in 1950, and then served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He started his career with Standard Oil of Indiana. He then moved to California and shortly after began his affiliation with Hasa, Inc. He transformed Hasa from a struggling, small divergent company into a specialized, widely recognized industry leader. He played a major role in the swimming pool and chemical industry in California and spent countless hours in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., supporting good business environments.

He is survived by his wife Elaine; his children: Mark Wilson (Gloria), Leslie Tone, Lynn Cummings (Steve), and Lisa Wilson Johnson (Dave); several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
