July 24, 2012

Around 230 undergraduate researchers and visiting students presented their research projects today during MSU’s second annual Summer Undergraduate Research Forum (SURF).

The event, which was held in the Engineering Building, provides an opportunity for students involved in research and creative activities at Michigan State University to share their work with their peers, faculty, and external audiences.

On display on the first floor of the building were posters of the research that the students conducted with MSU faculty during summer 2012, including more than 80 projects conducted with engineering faculty. Oral presentations took place throughout the building.

In photo above, Josh Drost, materials science and engineering junior, explains his research to Satish Udpa, dean of MSU’s College of Engineering.
