College Honors Nine at Ninth Annual Alumni Awards Banquet

Nine individuals were honored for their exceptional achievements by Michigan State University's College of Engineering at its ninth annual Alumni Awards Banquet held Saturday, May 5, at MSU's Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center. They were also recognized during the college's commencement ceremony on May 6.

In addition to eight alumni awards, the Green Apple Teaching Award was presented to a K-12 teacher who has inspired students to study math, science, and engineering.

Honorees with Satish Udpa, dean of the MSU College of Engineering, are (left to right): Asif Naseem, John D. Ryder Electrical and Computer Engineering Alumni Award; Deepak Mohan Advani, Computer Science and Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award; Sandra Woods, Civil and Environmental Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award; Robert K. Weiss, Green Apple Teaching Award; Sami R. Al-Araji, Claud R. Erickson Distinguished Alumni Award; Tom Fielitz, nominator of Robert K. Weiss for Green Apple Teaching Award; Satish Udpa, dean, College of Engineering; Michael W. Lamach, Sr., Applied Engineering Sciences Distinguished Alumni Award; Susan Pacheco, Mechanical Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award; Stephen B.
