Teresa VanderSloot Named Walter Adams Advisor of the Year

Teresa VanderSloot, undergraduate student advisor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), was named the 2012 Walter Adams Advisor of the Year for her long history of serving students at MSU.

The award is presented to an MSU graduate student, faculty, or staff member who has displayed an exemplary level of commitment and dedication to the organization where he or she has advised for more than one academic year.

VanderSloot has devoted herself to academic, personal, and career counseling of CSE majors since the summer of 2004. Prior to joining CSE, she was an academic specialist for the Eli Broad College of Business for five years. She previously served two years as the complex director with Residence Life at MSU. Among her many accomplishments since joining CSE, her mentorship of women students stands out.

The MSU Women in Computing organization nominated VanderSloot for this award.
