Education Abroad

Engineering Education Abroad

I want to welcome you to education abroad in the College of Engineering.  Here you will find a selection of programs for your experience.  Most programs are specifically designed for selected majors in order to assure your academic success.

My role as Coordinator is to assist you in making the appropriate selection for your education abroad experience and to guide you throughout the process.  In engineering we recognize that one-size fit all philosophy is not the correct approach for all students.  Education abroad is not for every student, but for many it is one of the greatest opportunities a student will experience during college years.  If you feel that education abroad is for you, stop in 1108 EB for a short chat.  I will be waiting.

Gilman Scholarship Program Spring 2019 and Summer 2019 Early Application Open! Visit GilmanScholarship.org.

The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program is pleased to announce that the online application is open for students participating in credit-bearing study abroad and international internship programs during the spring 2019 and summer 2019 terms.

The Gilman Scholarship Program offers grants of up to $5,000 to U.S. undergraduate students of high financial need.  Students studying a critical need language may be eligible to receive the Critical Need Language Award, a supplemental grant of up to $3,000. The Gilman Program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go by supporting U.S. undergraduates who might otherwise not consider these unique and valuable opportunities due to financial constraints.

Applications are due Tuesday, October 2, 2018 by 11:59pm (central time).

For more information see the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Flier (.pdf) and the U.S. Department of State Resources for American Student to Study Abroad info sheet (.pdf)
