Five Engineering Students Receive Board of Trustees Awards

Five engineering students were among 33 graduates this spring who received MSU Board of Trustees’ Awards for having the highest scholastic average at the close of his or her last semester in attendance at Michigan State University. They all received a 4.0 GPA. They are:

Ellen Bornhorst (biosystems engineering), of Houghton, Mich., is the daughter of Ted and Laurie Bornhorst. She is also a member of the Honors College. Bornhorst is a graduate of Houghton High School.

Steven Garske (computer science), of Bay City, Mich., is the son of Jackie and Michael Showalter of Bay City and Mark Garske of Saginaw. He is a graduate of All Saints Central High School.

Anthony Grittini (chemical engineering), of Sterling Heights, Mich., is the son of Tim and Linda Grittini. He is a graduate of Paul K. Cousino Senior High School.

Erik Ohlsson (civil engineering), of Lake Orion, Mich., is the son of Merrily and Donald Ohlsson. He is a graduate of Notre Dame Preparatory.

Brian Rockwell (mechanical engineering), of Houston, Mich., is the son of Jim and Kathy Rockwell. A member of the Honors College, Rockwell is double majoring in mechanical engineering and economics. He is a graduate of Memorial Senior High School.
