Judith Corley-Lay to chair new technical section for TRB
Judith Corley-Lay, director of MSU’s National Center for Pavement Preservation (NCPP), has been named chair of a new technical section of the Transportation Research Board (TRB).

The volunteer position to chair the Infrastructure Management and System Preservation Section was made on behalf of TRB and approved by the chair of the National Research Council. Her three-year appointment expires in April 2023.
She has been active in TRB for more than 30 years and chaired the technical committees on Strength and Deformation of Pavement Structures and Pavement Preservation.
TRB is one of seven program units of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. It provides independent, objective analysis and advice to the nation and conducts other activities to solve complex problems and inform public policy decisions. Members of the National Academies’ technical committees serve as individuals, not as representatives of the organizations by which they are employed or of which they may be members.
MSU’s NCPP is part of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. It was established by MSU and the Foundation for Pavement Preservation in 2003 to lead collaborative efforts among government, industry, and academia in the advancement of pavement preservation. Read more on NCPP at MSU.
