Gentex, a company founded by Fred Bauer (’65, electrical engineering) created a rear-vision system that helped Porsche racecar drivers compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race — including the race’s winner. Gentex’s intelligent rear-vision system allowed Porsche drivers to monitor the cars behind them throughout the race. Bauer is CEO and chair of the board at Gentex.

Incoming Spartan Engineers
One of Coach Mark Dantonio’s newest recruits – Dominique Long of Westerville (Ohio) South High School – cited MSU Engineering as a reason to choose MSU. “MSU was the best all-around choice,” he said. “It’s close to home, they have a top-50 engineering program, great tradition, and a coaching staff that cared about me as an individual.”
