The College of Engineering has added nearly 60 new faculty members in the past three years, including nine new tenure-system faculty members this year. This represents the largest expansion of MSU College of Engineering faculty in a generation.

Below are bios and short summaries of the impact our newest members are expect to make as part of the Michigan State University College of Engineering faculty.

Several important leadership positions have been established within the College of Engineering in 2018, among the new academic leadership are:



MSU Foundation Professor Yunhao Liu was named Chairperson Designee of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in January.



Also in January, Timothy J. Hinds, was named Director of the MSU Cornerstone & Residential Experience (CoRe), succeeding S. Patrick Walton, who is now the C. Robert and Kathryn M. Weir Endowed Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science



Theo Caldwell was named to the newly established position of Assistant Dean, Student Inclusion and Diversity, and Kyle Foster was promoted to Director of the Diversity Programs Office (DPO), in March.



Yue Qi was named as the inaugural Associate Dean for Inclusion and Diversity, in June.



Also in June, Katy Luchini Colbry was appointed Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Services, and John Verboncoeur's position was expanded to Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies as Manoochehr Koochesfahani stepped down as Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Faculty Development.
