What is Baja?

Baja SAE, a competition series sanctioned by the Society of Automotive Engineers, challenges students to design and construct a single-seat, all-terrain vehicle. Operating as a team, students undertake a full spectrum of tasks, from design and engineering to testing and promotion, all while adhering to competition rules. Since the 1970's, students at MSU Baja have spent long hours in the shop and at computer labs to create their off-road vehicle. The culmination of their efforts are seen in competitions featuring over 80 teams from across the globe, where their innovations and hard work are put to the test.
