Glad to see that W8SH is still thriving. Was a member from 1966-1976, got my advanced class license with Dr. Ralph Taggart, driving to FCC in Detroit in a sleet storm in February. Dave Sumner was club president (now with ARRL, as you know) Station was all Collins, fun to operate. Those were good times... de KG7DX (ex WB8ARB, KA1RI, KF1KF) Bob in Solon, Ohio

I'm Ian O. Ebert's son, and I'm 55 years old now, living in Albuquerque NM and doing odd things of my own (see www.ebert.com). My Dad loved W8SH (The Ham Club), where I spent a lot of time (mostly when it was up in the tower at the old EE building). I remember fooling with things like a mechanical, clock-wound morse code sender, various kinds of bugs, and the like and getting my novice license, although when I got out of high school I didn't pursue being a ham. I may get back into it one day soon. I keep thinking what fun Dad would have now when everything runs with computers (rather than vacuum tubes). Send off a message for him now and again (only in Morse code, though). Best, Jim

Was a W8SH operator in 1957-58 when it was located on the top tower floor of the (old?) EE Bldg, and used a long wire antenna from there over to the tall chimney at the steam plant. Ian O. Ebert was the faculty advisor. Had limited op hours because the RF was getting into the experimental, and not well-shielded computer cabinets in the EE Bldg.
