Dual PhD in EE and Physics
Mitchell is an Accelerator Science and Engineering Trainee under a graduate certificate program called ASET, a new accelerator science and technology DOE program. Mitchell’s research is done in collaboration with two national laboratories Los Alamos National laboratory and Argonne National laboratory. Mitchell is part of the DART research group at Los Alamos National laboratory and the Argonne Wakefield accelerator group at Argonne National laboratory. His research is related to electron guns and RF systems: it includes electron source benchmarking in high power systems, and electron beam utilization for isotope production and high power electromagnetic radiation (GHz to THz) generation for sensing. He is a co-president of the student chapter of IEEE Nuclear & Plasma Sciences Society at MSU.
