Women in Computing

In the Spring of 2005, MSU Women in Computing was founded as a group to encourage women in computing. During its first semester, the organization was primarily a book club which read and discussed "Unlocking the Clubhouse: Women in Computing" by Jane Margolis and Allan Fisher. However, after that first semester, several members took it upon themselves to expand the club, and they formed a registered student organization to support women in computing at Michigan State University. Women in Computing is currently a social club open to anyone who wants to develop relationships and build a supportive community centered around working to recruit, support, and retain women in computing fields. Their purpose is to help members make friends and to create a supportive community of people interested in the world of computing. Weekly meetings are designed to build connections and support members in their process of entering the world of computing. Social events and volunteer opportunities occur throughout the year, as do career-building ones. We'd love to see you come by and can't wait to meet you!
