Matiss Davis Kukainis (BS Mech Egr '00) has begun studies for his PhD in law (expected 2012) at the University of Latvia, focusing on European Union Competition Law. He is a graduate of the MSU College of Law (2004), a member of the Illinois Bar (2004), a member of the Republic of Latvia Bar (2007), has received an LL.M. in International and European Union Law from the Riga Graduate School of Law in Riga, Latvia (2007), and is a founding member of the law firm Spigulis & Kukainis. He is working as a lawyer in Riga, Latvia.
