Joanne M. Maguire

Freescale Semiconductor, Ltd. appointed Joanne M. Maguire (BS ECE '75) to its board of directors in November 2013.  She brings a wealth of experience associated with large-scale, technology-related businesses.

Maguire joined Lockheed Martin in 2003 and served as executive vice president of Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company from 2006 until she retired in May 2013.

Her experience in the aerospace and defense industry spans three decades.

She earned a BS degree in electrical and computer engineering from Michigan State University and an MS degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.

She was the first woman to receive the International von Karman Wings Award, presented by the California Institute of Technology, and she received the distinguished Peter B. Teets Award from the National Defense Industrial Association in 2012.

In 2011, she was elected to the National Academy of Engineering and is a fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Maguire currently sits on the board of Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, an independent not-for-profit research and development laboratory.
