George North (BS EGR ARTS '93) was named the vice president of revenue management for Spire Hospitality, one of the nation’s leading hotel management companies, in June 2016.

North has more than 20 years experience in hotel revenue management.

“George joins our team with an impressive amount of history in the revenue management world, most recently as the director of revenue management and pricing strategies with InterContinental Hotels,” said CEO and president of Spire Hospitality Bill DeForrest. “His talents and skills perfectly align with the Spire Hospitality objectives, and we are very excited to have him join us as we continue expanding our management portfolio.”

North has worked with all of the hotel brands among the InterContinental properties, including Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn. His portfolio of experience includes urban, suburban, airport, and resort locations.

“Having been raised in our family-owned properties in Michigan and with my career spanning many revenue management roles, I’ve had the unique opportunity to be engrained in every sector of hotels,” North said. “I’m thrilled to join the strong team at Spire Hospitality to provide greater pricing strategy and revenue management support for our hotels.”

North grew up working in hotels owned by his family in Michigan. He is a graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering arts, but his love of hotels and his knowledge of computer science proved to be an excellent foundation for the world of revenue management.
