U.S. Air Force Captain and Bay City native Andrew Zanotti (BS Civ Egr '09) was cheered at legendary Fenway Park on Aug. 2 as part of the Boston Red Sox salute to members of the U.S. armed forces. During a baseball game between the Red Sox and the New York Yankees, Zanotti stepped onto the roof of the dugout and his photo flashed on the stadium's jumbo-tron.
A 2004 graduate of Bay City Central High School, Zanotti holds a degree in civil engineering from Michigan State University, where he was an Air Force ROTC cadet. He joined the Air Force immediately after leaving MSU, and has since traveled to four countries, including Iraq and Kuwait. Currently stationed at New Boston Air Force Station in New Hampshire, he serves with the 23rd Space Operations Squadron, overseeing satellite command for more than 150 satellites with commercial, Department of Defense and national interests.
