Alice was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan. After taking her first chemistry class at Lansing Community College, she knew she wanted to work in a lab utilizing the principles of chemistry. Alice finished at LCC with an associate degree in Chemistry. After deciding to pursue a career in health research she went on to get her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with a concentration in Biomedical Engineering from Michigan State University. Continuing to work towards her goal of being a researcher, she joined the Chemical Engineering Ph.D. program at MSU where she currently works in the Food and Health Engineering Lab. She is currently analyzing infant formula and baby meals to determine their lipid profiles and oxidative status.
