As an engineer, it is highly encouraged and popular among students to have internships/co-ops related to their major during their college career. This past summer, I did something different: I moved to the East Coast and worked for L’Oréal in South Brunswick, New Jersey.
Whether it’s to help pay for school or late night snacks, many students have part-time jobs while going to school here at MSU. Most jobs on and off campus are very flexible with student’s schedules, giving them as many or as little hours as they need and working around their classes.
In addition to the multiple majors within the College of Engineering, there are also 3 minors students could partake in. Students often have minors in areas that their specific major does not touch on and that they personally are interested in.
Moving on campus can be a big change for a student going into their first year at college. From making life-long friends to creating EGR study groups, Michigan State’ Live On and Engineering’s CoRe programs will help you make the best of your first year in the dorms.
Michigan State University is one of the best schools for study abroad in the nation! Therefore, it is very common for a student to go on a study abroad sometime within their academic career. In spring of 2016, Tiegan Cunningham chose to spend a semester abroad in Denmark.
