What is engineering?
Simply put, using math, science, and imagination to solve problems, invent and improve things. Engineers discover new ways to design, create, or improve almost everything around them. It might sound complicated, but you have most likely acted as an engineer before without even knowing it! If you like math and science, solving problems, thinking creatively, or are curious about the world around you and how things work, you are already on your way to becoming an engineer!
What Do Engineers Do?
Engineers design and test sports equipment like golf balls and tennis rackets that help athletes perform better. Engineers create computer and video games with excellent life-like graphics, motions, and sounds. Engineers make machines that help farmers plant and harvest their crops. Engineers build houses, bridges, and hospitals and create improved materials to make them. Engineers design cars and figure out ways to make them more efficient.
