Biography:
Jeffrey Nanzer received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering and the B.S. degree in computer engineering from Michigan State University in 2003 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005 and 2008, respectively. From 2002 to 2003, he was a Research Assistant at Michigan State University where he developed testing procedures for genetic-algorithm-based self-structuring antennas. He was a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Texas at Austin Applied Research Laboratories in Austin, TX, from 2003 to 2008, where he researched techniques of human presence detection using millimeter-wave radiometers and radars. From 2008 to 2009 he worked there as a Post Doctoral Fellow designing electrically small HF antennas and communications systems. In 2009 he joined The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory where his research involved advanced radar and communications technology. In fall of 2016 Jeffery joined the EMRG as a faculty member. His research interests are in the areas of microwave and millimeter-wave remote sensing, millimeter-wave photonics, radiometry, radar, antennas, and electromagnetics.
