  • The overall goal of the MI-LSAMP is to significantly increase the number of under-represented minority students earning baccalaureate degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.
  • SURA is designed to provide a comprehensive research training and enrichment experience that begins with an eight week summer portion and ends at the completion of the successive fall semester.
  • The ESSA is a six-week, residential, academic intensive program designed to acclimate incoming freshmen with both the academic and environmental aspects to post-secondary education.
  • The GEM Fellowship programs are designed to offer opportunities for underrepresented minority students to obtain MS degrees in engineering and Ph.D. degrees in engineering and the natural and physical sciences through a program of paid summer internships.
  • Students with high academic achievement are invited to attend the Showcase of Stars breakfast. This event is an excellent opportunity to network with corporate representatives in a relaxed, social atmosphere.
  • The Diversity Programs Office provides faculty advising for several student organizations.
