The Diversity Programs Office understands that to support our students in their efforts to succeed academically, we must invest in our young people not only while they are at MSU, but before they get here! We have expanded our Summer Residential Programs to meet the needs of future and current Spartan Engineers!
The ESSA is a six-week, residential, academic intensive program designed to acclimate incoming freshmen with both the academic and environmental aspects to post-secondary education. Participants will attend daily classes in Math, Writing and Chemistry/Biology. Workshops/presentations will also be held to expose students to post graduation and professional opportunities. The MI-LSAMP SURA is designed to provide a comprehensive research training and enrichment experience. SURA consists of three components or phases that begins with an eight week summer portion and ends at the completion of the successive fall semester. Click here for more information.
The TEEMS is a residential program that will give students hands on exposure to the field of engineering and life on the campus of Michigan State University. Students will spend one week on campus exploring engineering concepts and participating in hands on projects that enhance the teamwork and communications skills needed to be successful in engineering. Additionally, participants will tour scientific and engineering laboratories on MSU’s campus. Click here for more information.
