Research Administration Project: Viewing Information in Kuali Coeus (KC)

MSU will be introducing a new research administration system as an added level within the EBS system. Training courses are available, offering instructor-led courses (EBS registration required) or online options through D2L. See the User Education site to learn more on the available times and registration steps.

Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research (iCER)

The Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research (iCER) provides the cyberinfrastructure for researchers from across academia and industry to perform their computational research.
  • Education and Events Training courses and workshops introduce new and current users to high-performance computing, data and visualization resources available through the High Performance Computing Center (HPCC).

The Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies (OVPRGS) Required Research Training

The Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies offers many types of required or recommended research-related training.

  • Events & Workshops VPRGS hosts regular events covering a variety of research related topics.
  • Animal Care Training Personnel involved in care, treatment, and use of animals are federally mandated to demonstrate the skills and knowledge to properly care for animals and to minimize the use of animals in teaching and research.
  • Conflict of Interest All MSU faculty and academic staff submit an annual disclosure of all significant financial interests related to their MSU responsibilities.
  • Environmental Health and Safety Training Completion of these courses by MSU personnel ensures that the university is fulfilling local, state and federal requirements in radiation safety, chemical safety, biological safety, occupational safety, hazardous waste compliance, and environmental compliance.
  • Human Research Protection Program All individuals involved in a human subject research project who have contact with human subjects or their identifiable data must have current human research protection training.

Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)

All graduate students within the College are required to participate in appropriate RCR training each year.

Sponsored Program Research Opportunities & University Training (SPROUT)

SPROUT is a network of staff at MSU involved in pre-award, post-award and compliance aspects of research administration working together to provide the latest news, training, resources and information available.
  • Essentials of Research Administration (ERA) This program provides on-campus training and certification for research administrators and other support staff who have responsibilities for research proposals, grants, contracts, pre- and post-award administration and related activity at Michigan State University.
